More Sparkle From Plasti Dip
Here’s a great way to add more sparkle and shimmer to household items, hobby projects and automotive items, such as wheels and accessories.
Four new colours have now been added to the Plasti Dip Metalizers line up, increasing the range and opportunities to customize like never before.
Plasti Dip is a novel and ingenious way to cover just about any surface with a synthetic rubber coating that protects, insulates and revitalises. The multi-purpose air-dry, synthetic rubber coating can easily be applied by spraying, brushing or dipping and, because it remains flexible and stretchy, it doesn’t become brittle or crack.
The Metalizer colours have now been expanded to include Red, Blue, Green and Violet, in addition to the existing Gold, Silver and Copper.
The latest Metalizer collection, which comes in easy-to-use 11oz aerosol cans, is designed to go over the top of a Plasti Dip base coat to provide a coloured, shimmering, metallic finish that can differ depending on the number of coats applied and also the colour of the base.
“Since we introduced Plasti Dip to the market, people are finding so many ways to use it to refresh and customize a huge range of items. This includes craft and hobby projects, bikes, phone covers, car parts, shoes, helmets, gaming controllers and many more. The new Metalizer colours will give them even more opportunities to liven things up,” says Tim Paterson, National Sales Manager of Griffiths Equipment, distributor of Plasti Dip in New Zealand.
“What makes the Metalizers so interesting is the ability to custom finish items to your liking, because they don’t completely cover up the Plasti Dip base coat, but rather add a metallic look – the more coats that are sprayed, the greater the metallic finish. And now that there are seven colour choices, the possibilities are endless.”
The Metalizers apply just as easily as the rest of the Plasti Dip range to a variety of substrates/surfaces to create a protective coating that is easy to grip and non-slip.
Plasti Dip can stick to most hard surfaces, including metal, wood, glass, masonry and other plastics, making is extremely versatile. The Americans refer to it as ‘like duct tape in a can’ because of the myriad of uses.
Originally developed to apply plastic coatings to replace worn grips on hand tools, such as pliers, wrenches and cutters, it has become a household name around the world.
