Projecta Portable Power-Hub delivers power on the go

Power-hungry devices can now be kept going away from the home, office or workshop thanks to the all-new ‘Portable Power-Hub’ just introduced to New Zealand by battery accessory specialist Projecta.

The new Projecta ‘Portable Power-Hub’ is designed to provide fast and convenient power anywhere and anytime, no matter what the location; remote campsite, caravan park, on the water or on a worksite where mains power isn’t available.

The PH125 Power-Hub turns a humble 12V battery (up to N70Z) into a convenient, versatile and user-friendly device capable of powering and charging a wide array of appliances and electronic equipment simultaneously via 10 power outlets.

Included is a 240V AC socket providing clean ‘Pure Sine Wave’ power (300W), which is a must for sensitive equipment such as laptops, and DC terminals for applications requiring a high rate of current, which includes jumpstarting a car.

Other outlets include USB (2x2A), cigarette lighter (2x10A), Engel (1x10A), a 50A heavy-duty and Merit sockets (2x15A), and all are protected by automatic resetting circuit breakers.

For greater convenience, the Power-Hub’s clever design allocates all the sockets that users are likely to be regularly connecting and disconnecting on one side of the unit while the outlets, which generally remain connected longer term (such as the Engel type and AC outlet) are located on the reverse side.

The unit is designed with outdoor use in mind and features moulded gutters in the top housing to drain water away from the electrics. Waterproof covers are also used to shield the plugs and sockets while still allowing the cords to remain plugged in through special slots when the cover is closed.

Carrying the Power-Hub from place-to-place is easy thanks to soft touch moulded handles, which provide maximum grip comfort and also double as tie-down points to secure the unit while being transported in a vehicle.

Managing the Power-Hub’s operation is equally simple, via the unit’s full colour, 2.4” LCD screen. The display provides comprehensive information on the battery, including a predicted state of charge, battery health, time to full charge and time to empty, as well as programmable low battery and battery health alarms, thus ensuring there is always power available when required.

The Power-Hub makes use of patented self-learning technology to determine the battery capacity and health over the life of the battery. This same technology can automatically distinguish the chemistry of the donor battery (Wet, AGM, Gel or Calcium).

With the ability to power laptops, radios, fridges and lighting, as well as provide battery charging power for a host of other appliances, tools and equipment, the Power-Hub is a viable alternative to operating a dual battery system, which eliminates installation costs while providing greater portability away from the vehicle.

Recharging the Power-Hub is also easy – this can be done with a 240V AC charger or solar panel (not included) that connects through either the DC terminals or 50A heavy duty socket. While charging, the Power-Hub can remain in use and the smart battery gauge will still show the net charging status of the battery.

Projecta’s new PH125 Power-Hub can be purchased at automotive outlets throughout New Zealand.
